WATCH: These funny but horribly cringeworthy moments from First Dates Ireland

Alan Loughnane

Oh, the awkwardness of it all…

The final episode in the current series of First Dates Ireland airs on Thursday, and we’re already contemplating what we’re going to do with our Thursday nights.

It’s given us some highs, and many, many lows but at the end of the day we’ve found it difficult to look away from our screens from 9.30pm to 10.30pm when Thursday rears its head.

A couple of moments from the series stick out in our minds, so we’ve decided to put a few of them together so we can all bask in the glorious mix of cringe and awkwardness that have become a staple of the show.

Who can forget poor Ciaran, who gave himself a pep talk in front of the mirror when he realised he’d overdone it on the wobbly water…

Then there was Conor, a student, who was on his first date with the lovely Delia and all round the date went reasonably well.

Apart from one moment at the very beginning when Conor went very direct with his questioning…

Then there was Ian and his uncommonly strong and candid love for women’s features… more specifically, in his words, their “asses”.

We have to give him credit, he’s a man of his word, in the pre-date interviews he outlined his love for bodacious rears and he didn’t keep it to himself during the date either.

But some would say that he rather frank approach wouldn’t be the best tactic for trying to woo a lot of women.

Then there was the one thing you wouldn’t want to happen on your first date. Ronan on his date was unfortunate to have his card declined one day before pay day, but thankfully for him he had a back up card at the ready and all was not lost.

Did you catch this sneaky devil, subtly tasting her partners drink a couple of weeks ago?

Here’s to one more episode of First Dates, and there’s no doubt we’ll miss it in between seasons…
