WATCH: This Irish guy’s perfect Moriarty impression will get you in the mood for the return of Sherlock

Conor Heneghan

“I will burn you. I will burn the heart out of you.”

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock all Christmas and didn’t know, Sherlock returns to our screens for a fourth series on New Year’s Day and it’s safe to say it’s got a lot of people very excited indeed.

There is, of course, a strong Irish connection to the series, the chief one being the excellent portrayal of Sherlock’s arch nemesis, Jim Moriarty, by Andrew Scott until ***SPOILER ALERT***…

…his death in the thrilling finale to the second season.

Teaser clips (see above) have hinted at a possible return for Scott and Moriarty in Season Two, but until that speculation is confirmed or not in the new episode tomorrow night, feast your eyes on the brilliant parody of the character by Sean Burke, who you may know from Hollywood Hijack on Channel 4 online.

As it turns out, attempting to destroy Sherlock is not his only passion and purpose in life; he also loves the Bee Gees.

If you’re familiar with the show, you’ll really appreciate the way Burke nails Moriarty’s little quirks; this is fantastic.
