PIC: Wheel of Fortune viewers had great fun suggesting risqué answers for this unfinished puzzle

Wheel of Fortune

The answer, as it turns out, was significantly more boring than the vast majority of suggestions.

Wheel of Fortune may be nearly as old as time itself, but it still has the capacity to deliver entertainment to viewers, often by completely unintentional means.

Earlier this year, for example, a contestant was responsible for surely one of the greatest cock-ups in gameshow history, while fictitious though it might be, everyone remembers Stan Marsh’s rather unfortunate Wheel of Fortune faux pas in South Park.

This week, viewers to the show had reason for a childish giggle when a contestant had narrowed down a three word puzzle to leave themselves with just four letters to solve.

The positioning of the existing letters, however, quite easily lent itself to a number of suggestions that will never see the light of day on Wheel of Fortune as long as it continues to be broadcast before the watershed.

The actual answer?

‘Back at work’. Well, of course it was, you filthy animals.
