After these comments, Liam Gallagher won’t want to run into Zlatan Ibrahimovic around Manchester

That's a new one

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has that type of polarising personality that earns him flak and praise in equal measure.

When he’s playing for your team, he’s adored because of his ability on the pitch but if he’s leading the line for a rival side, one can see how he would be unpopular.

Over the years, Ibrahimovic’s arrogance has been ridiculed by opposition supporters but we’re almost certain he’s never come across the insult levelled at him by hardcore Manchester City supporter Liam Gallagher.

The former Oasis frontman is City through-and-through so it will come as no surprise that he didn’t have many nice things to say about Manchester United’s top scorer of the season just gone.

Speaking to NME, Gallagher reacted to a photograph of the Swedish powerhouse by bizarrely comparing him to the iconic cartoon character, Foghorn Leghorn.

This is brilliant from start to finish as Liam throws his sardonic, beady eye over everything from fake news to dodgy Oasis tribute bands.

“Nah, not having him,” Gallagher said of Ibra.

“He looks like that big fucking cartoon, doesn’t he? Remember that big fucking rooster?

“There’s a cartoon of that big rooster. Google it!

“It was around the time of Tom & Jerry, a big rooster dude.

“I’m not having him, he’s United isn’t he?”

To be fair to Liam, we can kind of see a little bit of the resemblance.
