Bus Éireann release important travel information for Ed Sheeran’s upcoming Cork gigs

Paul Moore

Good news for any fans headed to Cork.

Ahead of Ed Sheeran’s three gigs at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Bus Éireann have announced that they’ll be running extra services from Kent Station and Lapps Quay to Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Bus Éireann will operate additional Route 202 services from Lapps Quay (opposite City Hall) to Páirc Uí Chaoimh via Monahan Road from 15:00hrs on May 4th, 5th and 6th next for the three concert dates.

A limited number of additional Route 202 services will also operate after the concerts also, from Ballintemple/Blackrock road to City Centre. The regular Route 202 timetable will also operate to Páirc Uí Chaoimh – in both directions – from Merchants Quay or Mahon Point via Ballintemple/Blackrock Road.

They’re also going to provide extra capacity on services from Kent Station to transfer concert goers to the City Centre, to allow connections onto the enhanced Route 202. Cork City Red Zone regular fares will apply and Leap Cards and Free Travel passes will also be accepted on these services.

Given the fact that all three concerts are sell-outs and that traffic restrictions will be in place, fans are being urged to avail of public transport.

Having previously announced that his pal, Jamie Lawson would be serving as the official opening act, Sheeran confirmed that the Irish trad group, Beoga, will be his support act for the Irish leg of his tour.
