The first acts announced for this year’s Indiependence festival are the best kind of nostalgia

Carl Kinsella

This is some line-up.

As we inch closer and closer to festival season, we’re being blessed with more and more line-up announcements – which only makes it harder and harder to decide which festivals to go to.

Indiependence haven’t made it any easier with these first few announcements, with the Cork-based festival dropping some unreal names that we’d be dying to see for the nostalgia factor alone.

The Kooks, The Editors, Bell X1 and Ash are at the top of the bill, and as if that weren’t enough, the Mitchelstown festival is also boasting The Strypes, Idlewild, Hudson Taylor and The Blizzards as well as King Kong Company, Little Hours and many more.

We are also very excited to reveal that JOE and Her.ie will be there with bells on with our own Sunday Sessions area, with a stellar lineup to be announced in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out.

The thirst for Indiependence is very real with all the early bird tickets having already flown out the door but weekend camping tickets are now on sale for €119.

INDIE isn’t just about the music though, and the festivals boasts a Beer Hall Stage, Comedy & Spoken Word, the Silent Disco, Festi-Huts and a wide variety of food options over the course of the weekend, with more plenty more announcements on the way.

INDIE15 sold out in advance so don’t hesitate to visit www.indiependencefestival.com to buy tickets or www.facebook.com/INDIEPENDENCEFEST for more information.
