Video: This Rose of Tralee hopeful rapping the Fresh Prince theme Wexford-style is genius

Our favourite Rose ever

Joe Harrington

“In South Wexford I was born and raised.”

The Rose of Tralee takes place in Kerry in August but the qualifiers are currently taking place around the country and around the world.

The Bahrain Rose selection was on two weeks ago and it was a fairly standard night until the Kuwait representative Roisin Reville took to the stage.

Your usual Rose party piece is something like reciting a poem, Irish dancing, or playing tin whistle, but Roisin decided to show everyone her rapping skills.

We understand your hesitance at this point because Irish people rapping is usually very cringe.

However, Roisin’s Wexford-inspired Fresh Prince rap is actually pretty amazing, check out her rhymes and original lyrics now.

For a reason that we cannot comprehend, that rap wasn’t enough for Roisin to be crown the Bahrain Rose – daylight robbery. What a gas woman though.
