Gardaí are investigating a fatal collision in Cork

A man in his 70s has died after a road traffic collision in Ballinacourty, Belgooly, Co. Cork.

The incident took place at roughly 9:55pm on Monday night when a car and a bus collided. A man in his 70s, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí have reported that there were no injuries to any passengers on the bus.

A post mortem of the man will now take place in Cork University Hospital.

Roads are closed with local diversions in place in order for Gardaí to conduct a forensic examination of the scene.
