However, the weather experts have also added that there is still some uncertainty over the true extent of the predicted cold-snap, saying that there is still "some uncertainty to the midweek detail".
Whilst the weekend will finish out in moderate fashion, with high temperatures between six and nine degrees along with some bright sunny spells, the weather will begin to turn cooler overnight, with lows of -1 degrees forecast.
Moving into tomorrow, the week will begin with hazy sunny spells and scattered showers, as temperatures struggle to climb above five degrees during the day time for much of the country. Southern areas will be mildest with highs between six to nine degrees.
