Emergency services attended the scene on Wednesday morning.
Washington Street in Cork, one of the busier streets in the city, has been closed to traffic following the partial collapse of a building on Wednesday morning.
It is believed the incident occurred at approximately 1.45am.
The building in question is located at the corner of Washington Street and South Main Street, and a building adjacent to it has also been evacuated.
Cork City Council shared the news on its Twitter account, saying that council building control engineers are attending the site to assess the building’s stability and safety.
In a statement issued to JOE on Wednesday morning, Gardaí said that the road will remain closed until further notice, and that no injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
Cork City Fire Brigade also shared pictures of the incident, from the scene, early on Wednesday morning.
Crews from Anglesea Street, Ballyvolane and a Third Officer are currently in attendance at a partial building collapse on Washington Street in the City Centre.
