The woman was reported missing last month.
A six-week search for a missing Dublin woman has been stood down following the discovery of a body.
Margaret Barber was reported missing from her home in Mount Merrion, Dublin on Thursday August 8.
She was last spotted in the car park of Booterstown Dart station a short time after leaving her house that day.
Gardaí had issued multiple appeals for anybody with information regarding her whereabouts.
In a statement to JOE on Tuesday afternoon, a Garda spokesperson confirmed the search for Ms Barber had been stood down.
“Following the discovery of a body, the missing person appeal in respect of Margaret Barber, 66 years, who was reported missing since 8th August 2024, has been stood down,” the statement reads.
“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter.
“No further action is required and no further information is available at this time.”
Known for her work at Mount Merrion Community Centre, Margaret was described as a ‘pillar of the community’ and a ‘lovely lady’.
