Here’s how many households and businesses in each county will get faster broadband as part of a new Eir initiative

Good news for rural Ireland.

Eir confirmed this morning that 100,000 households and businesses across Ireland’s 26 counties would be receiving 1Gps broadband speed as part of an initiative to bring better broadband services to to 300,000 houses and businesses in broadband-deprived areas.

Here is a full breakdown of how many premises will be able to avail of improved broadband speeds by the end of 2016, by county:

Carlow – 690 premises 

Clare – 1330 premises

Cork – 5440 premises

Donegal – 14,240 premises

Dublin – 3630 premises

Galway – 12,900 premises

Kerry – 8010 premises

Kilkenny – 1860 premises

Laois – 1090 premises

Leitrim – 710 premises

Limerick – 4130 premises

Longford – 930 premises

Louth – 7570 premises

Mayo – 2470 premises

Meath – 7410 premises

Monaghan – 1330 premises

Offaly – 1560 premises

Roscommon – 2040 premises

Sligo – 2940 premises

Tipperary – 2070 premises

Waterford – 3190 premises

Westmeath – 3410 premises

Wexford – 9540 premises

Wicklow – 2160 premises
