May he rest in peace.
We were shocked to hear the news that legendary broadcaster Terry Wogan had passed away this morning after a short illness.
The veteran presenter was a household name for his work on RTÉ and the BBC both on radio and television.
Wogan had a reputation for being a thorough gentleman throughout his career and won the hearts of many people who were lucky enough to meet him.
Thousands of people have been quick to show their love, appreciation and respect for Wogan following the sad news of his passing today.
He made it seem effortless and for a young boy in Ireland he made it seem possible. RIP Sir Terry Wogan. I'll raise a glass during song 9.

I went to the same school as Terry Wogan. The idea that a kid from Limerick could go & make it at the BBC was so inspiring. Absolute hero.

Why do I feel a genuine sadness on hearing of Terry Wogan's death? I suppose he was my childhood. He *was* the telly when I was growing up..

So so sad to hear the news today about Terry Wogan. Warm, traditional and yet brilliantly subversive. A true TV and radio icon. What a loss.
