It looks a bit like him all right.

People were not happy with it.

A bronze statue of the late broadcaster, Terry Wogan, was unveiled on Saturday in his native Limerick City.

Wogan was born in the south and grew up in Limerick and even went to college there before he moved to Dublin with his family when he was a teenager.

The statue is located at Poor Man’s Kilkee on the River Shannon quayside and was made by sculptor Rory Breslin, who wanted the image to portray Wogan sitting on a chair with a microphone and book in his hand.

However, some people weren’t pleased with the statue of the famous broadcaster and did not think it resembled Wogan in any way at all.

Some thought the statue of Wogan resembled singer, Nick Cave who is an Australian musician and frontman of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, more than Terry Wogan himself.

Any resemblance?
