It made for entertaining TV on Monday night, but it is reported that Irish Independent political editor Fionnan Sheehan has really put Vincent Browne’s nose out of joint.

Sheehan is a regular on TV3’s ‘Tonight With Vincent Browne’ show, but it looks like he is no longer a welcome guest after challenging the wily old fox on air.

At the start of the show, which was discussing the Anglo Tapes controversy, Sheehan pointed out that Browne had shown bias against Independent Newspapers after the presenter persisted in querying how long the Irish Independent had the tapes before deciding to publish them.

Both men stood to their guns, but it seems like the stand-off continued off-air according to the paper today, with the Indo stating that Browne insisted he would do everything to ensure Sheehan would never appeared on the show again.

“I am enjoying the notoriety of being the only guest to be banned from the ‘Vincent Browne Show’,” Sheehan said last night.

Browne himself would not be drawn on whether Sheehan would or would not be appearing on the show again, simply saying “You will have to talk to the producer about that”.
