Video: Belgian football fans stop play after releasing live chickens onto pitch
In fairness, the fans were just putting out their team’s two best wingers…
During a recent match-up in Belgium between Beerschot-Wilrijk and Ternesse, the visiting supporters from Beerschot decided to have a little fun with live poultry, but their antics ended up in some foul (or should that be fowl) play.
According to the Belgian site HLN.be, a group of Beerschot supporters walked through a bird market before getting to the pitch, so they bought a few birds and let them loose just as the match started, which obviously delayed the game even further.
The stunt actually helped the travelling team to win as Beerschot ended up beating Ternesse 3-1.
