Video: Prepare to wince at a dive that went horribly wrong at the Southeast Asian Games today

That had to hurt

Conor Heneghan

Not for the squeamish, this.

Diving is a sport that requires its participants to be in fantastic shape, to have impeccable technique and to be very, very brave because the risk of things going wrong is pretty damn high.

One competitor at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore today found that out to his cost today when he landed flat on his back after leaping from a platform ten metres high.

It was not pretty.

And on his 16th birthday too. Poor lad.

Hat-tip to Geoff O’Donoghue for sending this one our way
