Well played, Wyoming, Minnesota. Well played, indeed.
Yesterday, April 20, was 420 day, a day when people around the world (particularly the United States) celebrate the act of smoking marijuana for reasons discussed in more detail here.
While you’re finding out more, meanwhile, why not check out what happened when three Irish mammies smoked weed for the first time?
The legal status of marijuana has been the subject of much debate in recent years and while Ireland is moving towards legalising its use for medicinal purposes, it is already legal to use it recreationally in some parts of the United States.
With that in mind, you can understand the fairly light-hearted approach adopted by the police department in the town of Wyoming, Minnesota on 420 day on Thursday, when they set up ‘traps’ in an attempt to nab people guilty of lighting up on the day.
We heard complaints about someone not having enough drugs for #420 so if you're a drug dealer hit us up so we can……connect. #helpfulcops

The Wyoming Police Department also did the same thing on the same day last year (they put a bit more effort in this time around) and just in case anyone saw fit to accuse them of treating the matter too lightly, they did follow it up with some serious posts about substance abuse.

Looking forward to next year’s effort already, Wyoming.
