Metropolitan Police have confirmed that they are dealing with two incidents tonight, and that the situation has been described as ongoing.
Many unconfirmed reports have flooded social media and very little is known for certain, however, it is confirmed that emergency services have been dispatched to both London Bridge and Borough Market. It is also confirmed that there have been several injuries as a result of a van hitting pedestrians on the British capital’s landmark bridge.
The Telegraph has published reports of shots fired near The Shard on Southwark Street, and have further reported that police on the scene told everyone to “run.” Buildings surrounding London Bridge have also been evacuated.
There have been no official reports yet regarding casualties, but it is clear from the attending paramedics and active police role in ordering evacuations that the situation is both serious and ongoing.
