JOE’s Song Of The Day #796 – Brí ‘Low Supply’

Eric Lalor

Brí

Brí has a haunting voice in plentiful supply.

An independent singer-songwriter based in Dublin, Brí is a former member of The Inklings, who once won the King Kong competition prize of playing the main stage at iconic Wexford Street venue, Whelan’s.

The Inklings were also selected to play The Black Door Showcase in 2017 as some of Dublin’s best young up-and-coming artists and supported acts such as David Keenan in The Liquor Rooms.

Brí

Brí is flying solo here and this track is her first real foray into electro-folk. Inspired by haunting vocals and heartfelt lyrics from artists such as Birdy, Laura Marling, Lisa Hannigan and Gabrielle Aplin, Brí’s songwriting draws on personal experience.

“For me, songwriting is having something difficult happen, and turning it into something beautiful instead. It’s sharing something real and meaningful so that we all feel a little less alone,” she says.
