Swift said she is the ‘proudest I’ve ever felt’
Taylor Swift has been named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023.
The popstar’s Eras tour has broken box office records this year, whilst the re-recording of her album 1989 was the fastest-selling album of 2023.
Other nominees for this year’s title included Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Barbie, the Hollywood strikers and King Charles III.

She told Time that being crowned person of the year is the “proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt”.
The ‘Blank Space’ singer admitted her 180-minute concerts leave her physically drained, saying that after a run of shows “I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to bed and eat it there.”
“I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels,” she added.
Last month, Bloomberg declared the 33-year-old a billionaire, with an estimated net worth of $1.1bn (£907m).
She is just the fourth musician to achieve billionaire status after Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, but the first to do it from music alone.
And in recent months, Swift has been making headlines in the world of sports thanks to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.
Swift is embarking on the international phase of her Eras tour next year, which includes 15 shows in the UK.
Last year, Volodymyr Zelensky was named Time’s Person of the Year following the invasion of Ukraine.
Previous winners of the award include Elon Musk, Greta Thunberg, Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos, Martin Luther King Jr, Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler.
