Ben Affleck and Daniel Day Lewis continue to blitz award season with some more wins at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Daniel Day Lewis secured himself multiple nominations by taking on the role of Abraham Lincoln – a pretty smart move. Last night he won Best Actor at the Screen Actors Guild awards, and he’s up for an Oscar for Best Actor too. He already won the Best Actor at the Golden Globes for the role as the US president and is up for the same at the BAFTAs. Good work Daniel.

Ben Affleck and his cast of Argo also appear to be doing rather well for themselves. They won the award at the SAGs for outstanding performance by a cast. Affleck also secured a best director and best movie award at the Golden Globes and is also nominated for best film, director and actor at the BAFTAs and best picture at the Oscars.

Argo cast member Bryan Cranston won the best actor award for his portrayal of a teacher come drug lord in Breaking Bad, while Claire Danes won best actress for her role as a CIA analyst in Homeland at the SAGs.

Best Actress in a motion picture went to Jennifer Lawrence, who also took the same award at the Golden Globes earlier this month for Silver Linings Playbook. Best supporting actor went to Tommy Lee Jones for Lincoln and Anne Hathaway won best supporting actress for Les Miserables.

Top comedy actor awards went to 30 Rock’s Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin while Modern Family picked up best ensemble cast for a comedy show. A life time achievement award went to Dick Van Dyke, known for his longstanding  performance in Diagnosis Murder.
