Decisions, decisions…
There is a lot vying for your attention tonight.
There are the full couches on The Late Late Show and Graham Norton.
There are the new cinema releases, including The Irishman, The Good Liar, and The Aeronauts.
And there are no less than NINE movies we recommend you check out on the telly, starting with:
FRIDAY 8 NOVEMBER
Star Trek Into Darkness – Film4 – 9pm
The big sci-fi sequel that pits the young, sexy Enterprise crew against Benedict Cumberbatch’s genetically modified space terrorist.
Child’s Play 2 – Horror Channel – 9pm
Chucky is back, following Andy to his foster home and killing just about everyone he crosses paths with. Incredibly dark, super violent, and way better than that remake that came out this year.
You, Me And Dupree – RTE Two – 9.30pm
Before the Russo Brothers took on the Avengers movies, they directed this okay-ish romantic comedy about a happy couple (Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon) who allow his best friend (Luke Wilson) to move in for a few days to help get him back on his feet, but soon realise he has no intentions on moving out.
Me, Myself And Irene – Comedy Central – 10.30pm
Jim Carrey is the state trooper with split personality, and Rene Zellweger is a witness he has to protect, but when his medication runs out, the “other” side of him comes out, and is much more adept at handling the high pressure situation.
The Burbs – Horror Channel – 10.40pm
Tom Hanks believes his new neighbours might be a family of murderers, but even though very few people seem to believe him, more and more of his other neighbours start go missing. A very entertaining dark comedy.
The Purge: Election Year – Film 4 – 11.40pm
We see America, in the run up to electing a new President, who wants to do away with the Purge night, enjoy their potentially last few hours of freely murdering and crime’ing it up. But the new President may become a target herself, as those in power don’t want The Purge night gone.
Eat Pray Love – RTE One – 11.50pm
Julia Roberts travels the world to find herself, based on that really famous book that everyone was reading on the bus/train a few years back.
Enough – Virgin Media Two – 12.00am
J-Lo escapes an abusive boyfriend, but after continually tracking her down, and she decides to stop running, and begins to prepare for when he does eventually find her one last time.
Southpaw – More4 – 12.30am
Jake Gyllenhaal plays a boxer who loses his family and hits bottom, but when in pit of depression, befriends a fellow former boxer and begins to get his life back on track. You will cry. A lot.
