Streaming for free now, the film is produced by the director of Event Horizon and Resident Evil.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Wednesday, 27 April) is Pandorum, a 2009 sci-fi horror thriller starring Ben Foster (Sharp Corner) and Dennis Quaid (The Substance).

The film centres on two astronauts, Payton (Quaid) and Bower (Foster), who awake in a hypersleep chamber on a spaceship with no memory of who they are or what their mission might be.

"While Payton stays behind to monitor the radio transmitter, Bower ventures out of the chamber into the seemingly abandoned spaceship," the plot synopsis reads.

"The men quickly realise that they are not alone and that the fate of mankind hinges on what they do next."

Produced by Paul W. S. Anderson (Event Horizon, Resident Evil), Pandorum's cast also includes Antje Traue (Man of Steel), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), Cung Le (The Man with the Iron Fists) and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead).

The movie takes its title from a fictional slang term, which is used to describe a form of psychosis caused by deep space and triggered by emotional stress. It can lead to severe paranoia, delirium and nosebleeds.

Pandorum received mixed reviews upon its initial release. In the years since, however, the film has attracted a cult following.

It's easy to see why, as the movie boasts both a twisty plot and a cool futuristic yet lived-in spacecraft setting, recalling the Alien franchise.

Pandorum is airing on TV tonight/tomorrow morning on the channel Legend at 11.25am.
