A classic legal thriller movie is airing on TV tonight

Also currently streaming on Netflix, the film is from the writer of The Firm and The Pelican Brief.

Directed by Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever, The Lost Boys, Phone Booth), the film follows a young lawyer (Matthew McConaughey) and his legal team (including Sandra Bullock) in Clanton, Mississippi, in 1984.

This is as they defend a black man (Samuel L. Jackson) accused of murdering two white men who attacked his 10-year-old daughter.

A major hit upon release, the legal thriller's twisty plot, strong performances, tense courtrooms, and palpable sense of place make it well worth seeking out.
