CoComelon: The Movie unveils first trailer ahead of cinema release

What can we expect from the CoComelon movie

The movie is complete with a star-studded voice cast and 10 brand-new songs.

The film sends toddler favourite JJ and his friends on a new adventure, and is billed as “a story about finding your courage, discovering your voice, and learning that every new journey is better with friends by your side”.

The voice cast is led by SZA, Nicholas Hoult, Ike Barinholtz, Sarah Sherman, Ego Nwodim, Rhys Darby and Cristó Fernández, as Variety reported.

“JJ and his friends are actually moving on; they’re going into kindergarten, which brings on some anxieties of its own for JJ,” director Kat Good told RTÉ Entertainment.

On his first day, JJ loses his beloved stuffed bear Boba, voiced by Hoult, and must journey with best friends Cody, CeCe and Nina into a magical realm called The Lost and Found to get him back.

Music, Good said, is “fundamental” to the film, which features “10 new songs with this contemporary sound that just are earwormy”.

“These are songs that are going to get stuck inside people’s heads,” she added.

No Irish release date has been confirmed yet, but the film is expected in Irish cinemas as part of its global rollout.
