Dee Bliss set to return to Neighbours, 13 years after her death

Drama on Ramsay Street.

Madeleine West, who played Dee Bliss in the long-running Australian soap Neighbours, is set to reprise the role later this year having been written out of the show 13 years ago.

Bliss, who was married to Jarrod ‘Toadie’ Rebecchi, tragically plunged to her death when Toadie accidentally drove their car off cliff immediately after their wedding in one of the most memorable moments in the show’s history.

According to Digital Spy, Neighbours have confirmed that West started filming scenes this week for a guest spot in episodes that will air in December and January.

While it was assumed that Bliss tragically passed away, her body was never found. Toadie, of course, has since moved on and married Sonya, so Dee’s return is bound to cause plenty of excitement on Ramsay Street.

Speaking about her return to Neighbours, West said: “It is a very rare and wonderful thing when an actor has the opportunity to step back into the shoes of a character they created, even more so when that character had not been seen for some 13 years, and was one as beloved as Dee Bliss.

“For me, this return to Neighbours is something of a homecoming, to the place where I took my first tentative steps into the entertainment industry, and where I truly learnt my craft.”
