An examination of a Game of Thrones fan theory that could change everything about the final season

Listen to JOE’s brand new Game Of Thrones reaction show, The North Awaits, with Michael Fry & Carl Kinsella right here.

We’re not saying that we’ve fully bought into this, but we’re not ruling it out either.

Right so, let’s get this out of the way, there will be spoilers in this article.

Loads of them. So if you’re not up to date with the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, get out of here.

Now.

As you know, Danaerys went full Mad Queen in the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, and burned the entirety of King’s Landing to the ground.

Not just the army. Men, women, children. Everyone got a taste.

Many fans felt that this was out of character for the Mother of Dragons, while others claim that this was always the direction her character was heading.

But if you’re leaning towards the former point of view, then this theory could add some weight.

Reddit user ratcliffeb claims that Bran used his magic powers to warg into Drogon, just as the surrender bells rang in King’s Landing.

This would mean that it was actually him roasting the citizens of King’s Landing and by doing so, helping to turn Dany into the Mad Queen in everyone’s eyes.

It could, in theory, all be part of a ploy to ensure that Jon is the man that leads Westeros when all is said and done, and although they could be seen as a stretch, there are some other pieces of evidence that point in this wild direction too.

For example, we never see Dany’s face throughout the entirety of the attack. It’s strictly shot from the ground. Add that to the fact that Bran’s vision of Drogon flying over King’s Landing finally came true and there is still something of a connection there.

But come on, would he really be responsible for the a mass genocide? It doesn’t really seem like Bran’s style, if you ask us. And what would he really have to gain from it?

Also, there does seem to be plenty of evidence as to why Dany would want to absolutely destroy King’s Landing. Bran, not so much.

At the same time, the way this season is going so far, nothing would surprise us; let’s see what the finale brings.
