Game Of Thrones dead-pool: Who is most likely to die in the season finale this weekend?

There are three primary suspects for the major death to come in the finale.

In the Game Of Thrones, all bets are off. Nobody is safe.

You know the drill, if you’re not up to date, put a bucket on your head and hit it with a spoon until it is safe to come out, because…

While this season of Game Of Thrones hasn’t exactly been light on death, there has yet to be a jaw-dropping, “Oh My God!” moment that the show is famous for.

There hasn’t been a rug-pull along the lines of Ned Stark’s headless horseman impression, or The Red Wedding, or The Purple Wedding, or any number of shocking moments in the show’s history so far.

Yeah, we’ve seen some great characters killed off in the recent episodes, but nothing you would necessarily consider hugely memorable.

So before we get into hedging our bets, let us take another look at the trailer for the season finale:

“There is only one war that matters, and it is here.”

There is finally going to be a HUGE meeting of several of the major characters, and we can already feel the goosebumps from here.

According to an insider on the show, the meeting between Jon trying to convince Cersei of the White Walker’s existence and that is the war they should be focusing on will also be attended by Daenerys, Euron, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, The Hound, Varys, Ser Davos Seaworth, The Mountain, Brienne of Tarth, Theon Greyjoy, Qyburn, Ser Jorah Mormont, Bronn, Missandei and Podrick Payne.

That is just about everyone, but while that will be the major distraction, the most likely major murder victim will actually lie elsewhere:

Arya, Sansa and Littlefinger.

Yup, more than likely, the season finale will be curtains for at least one of these.

Alan Taylor, who directed the most recent episode, talked to Huffington Post about the sisters:

“I love the fact that these two come back, they’re both lethal, and I just wanted to give the impression, as much as possible, that one of them is going to die. But you’re not sure which one.

“Arya is certainly lethal and sort of threatening, but when Sansa sends Brienne away, who is Arya’s natural protector, something is coming very soon between them, and it will be violent but surprising.”

So does that spell doom for one of the sisters killing the other?

Not necessarily, as fans of the show will remember the trailer for Season 7 before any of it came to air:

“When the snows fall, and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives,” we hear Sansa say, but she hasn’t uttered those words in any of the episodes yet.

That does sound like a threat from her to Littlefinger, for attempting to divide the Stark pack (the wolf is their family crest, after all), and it wouldn’t surprise us if Arya was in the long-con all along, using her powers of sneaky subterfuge to lure Petyr Baelish into a trap.

Or we could be wrong and the newly iced dragon arrives to kill everyone at that other meeting, after all.

Like we said, this is Game Of Thrones, and all bets are off.

We won’t have long to wait before we know for sure.
