It is a historic day folks.

Joe Biden has been elected President of America. It is massive.

But, there is a life outside of American politics too, and to be honest, we need a bit of a break at this stage.

So here are the best movies on TV tonight:

Shrek 2 – 6.35pm – RTÉ2

Shrek is one of the best ever animated movies. And you know what? Shrek 2 is better. There.

Bean – 7.05pm – Comedy Central

Beloved character Mr. Bean heads to LA to bring back a famous painting. You can imagine how that goes.

The Simpsons Movie – 7.15pm – E4

Considering The Simpsons has really been poor for a long time now, this movie marks where it really started to go downhill. However, it’s still a very decent movie with some great gags.

The Lord of the Rings – 8pm – Sky One

The second one. Also the best one. Like Shrek.

Coach Carter – 9.35pm – TG4

An all-time great sporting movie about respect, crime, loyalty and basketball. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.”

Last Action Hero – 9pm – Film4

Arnie doing what he does best. Getting shit DONE.

Pitch Perfect 2 – 11.15pm – RTÉ2

A decent bit of musical fun if you’re looking for a singalong on your Satyrday night.

Bad Neighbours 2 – 11.30pm – Channel4

Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne and Chloe Grace Moretz. All going head to head. It’s fairly funny, if not a little bit forgettable.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
