Three Irish stars have been announced as nominees for the Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for the 2024 Golden Globes.
The nominees were announced on Monday, December 11, with Barry Keoghan, Andrew Scott and Cillian Murphy all jumping into the running for the coveted award.
Murphy is up for his role as J Edgar Oppenheimer in one of this year’s box office behemoths, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Barry Keoghan is up for his role as Oliver Quick in the quirky dark comedy Saltburn, which released in cinemas last month.
Meanwhile, Andrew Scott is also in with a shout for the award, with his role in All of Us Strangers alongside Oscar nominee Paul Mescal.
Maestro star Bradley Cooper and Killers of the Flower Moon powerhouse Leonardo DiCaprio are also in the running for the award.

Irish actors dominate Golden Globes nominations for Best Male Actor in a Drama Motion Picture
Murphy’s Oppenheimer is just behind Barbie for total nominations. The Christopher Nolan epic biopic has eight – Barbie has nine. It also bagged noms for the likes of best Drama Motion Picture, Best Directing, Best Score, and Best Screenplay.
Murphy’s nomination marks his second Golden Globe nom, and his first in 13 years, since he was nominated for the Irish comedy drama Breakfast on Pluto.
Barry Keoghan also received his second Golden Globe nom, with the Dubliner previously being nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for last year’s Banshee’s of Inisherin.
Rounding out the Irish nods, Andrew Scott also receives his second Golden Globe nomination, previously being nominated in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role – Television for his role as the priest in Fleabag.
The awards will take place in Beverly Hills on Sunday 7 January.
