Kevin Clark played Freddy Jones in School of Rock

It may not feel like it, but it’s almost 15 years since Jack Black’s cult comedy School of Rock was first released back in 2004.

The film follows a struggling guitarist, played by Black, who disguises himself as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school and teaches a class of children to play in a rock band.

One of those children was Kevin Clark, who played the band’s drummer Freddy Jones – AKA ‘Spazzy McGee’ – in the film.

Although the now 29-year-old Clarke is no longer acting, the reason he was given the role was due to his talents as a drummer – something he still keeps up to this day. His projects include backing up singer-songwriter Robbie Gold and drumming for the band Dreadwolf.

Black has recently been on tour with Tenacious D, and Clark joined the 49-year-old actor and his bandmate Kyle Glass backstage after one of their shows in Chicago.

In an image of the reunion posted to Instagram, Black can even be seen wearing a Dreadwolf t-shirt.

“Kinda a must here, but it’s not every day you get to see Jack Black wearing your t shirt,” the Dreadwolf account posted on Instagram.

Reacting to the image, fans were quick to express their surprise at how much different Clarke – pictured centre left – looks from his time in the film.

“He looks so different!” one person tweeted.

“That kid was my favourite. Well, I feel even older,” another added.

They grow up so fast.
