The 10 must-watch new (and old) arrivals coming to Disney+ in April

Rory Cashin

Some big Oscar winners, some classic action movies, and the return of the queens of reality TV are all in the mix in April.

On top of regularly adding big movies to its library (such as these 17 recent additions), not to mention the fact that the end of March will kick off Moon Knight (the latest MCU series, headed by Oscar Isaac himself!), Disney+ has also given us a glimpse of what we can expect to arrive in April.

Am̩lie Р1 April

An adorable comedy about a young French woman (Audrey Tautou) who wanders around Paris trying to help as many strangers as possible, but everything takes a weird left turn when she finds herself suddenly falling in love with one of those strangers.

Single Drunk Female – 6 April

With 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, this comedy drama tells the story of Samantha Fink (Sofia Black-D’Elia), who is forced to move back home with her overbearing mother and sober up after suffering from a very public breakdown.

All ten episodes of the first season will be available to watch on 6 April.

18 seasons of NCIS – 6 April

On the same day that the first three episodes of the 19th season of the massively popular series revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service arrives on the platform, the first eighteen seasons of the series also arrive in their entirety.

A Monster Calls – 8 April

A heartbreaking magical drama about a young boy who creates a fantastical world to help him process the impending death of his mother. The movie stars Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell and Liam Neeson.

Headhunters – 8 April

A fantastically dark comedy-thriller from Norway, absolutely one of those movies that seems shocking Hollywood hasn’t tried to remake yet. A high-end recruiter moonlights as an art thief, and he has just set his sights on his next heist, unaware that he has chosen the worst target imaginable.

The Kardashians – 14 April

After 20 seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian, as well as Kendall, Kylie and Kris Jenner are back with their new reality show.

The first episode will debut on 14 April, with the rest of the season arriving weekly after that.

Speed – 15 April

Literally one of the greatest action movies ever made, with a police officer (Keanu Reeves) and impromptu driver (Sandra Bullock) trying to keep a city bus above 50mph or a bomb on board will go off.

Speed 2: Cruise Control is also added to Disney+ on this date, but we don’t talk about that one.

Le Mans ’66 – 15 April

Matt Damon and Christian Bale headline this brilliant drama about a team of designers and engineers who are commissioned by Ford to create a race car capable of defeating Ferrari at the 24 hour race in Le Mans.

Mrs. America Season One – 20 April

This nine-part mini-series focusses on the retelling of the true story behind the movement to pass the Equal Rights Amendment in America. The impressive cast includes Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth Banks, Margo Martindale, John Slattery, Tracey Ullman and Sarah Paulson.

The Planet of the Apes Saga – 29 April

Planet of the Apes (1968), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) are already on the service, and they’ll now be joined by Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973).

The Mark Wahlberg version of Planet of the Apes (2001) is also available, but we don’t talk about that one.
