Late Late Graham Norton line up

Settle back into your Friday night routine.

The first Friday of the New Year is never the busiest date on the social calendar and we’d wager that plenty of you are more than happy to stay in and put the feet up… especially after seeing the weather forecast.

If you are going to spend the night in front of the box, here’s who’ll be featuring on the Late Late Show and an alternative episode of the Graham Norton show tonight.

The Late Late Show kicks off on RTÉ One at 9.35pm with The Graham Norton Show going out on BBC One at 10.35pm.

The Late Late Show

  • Kathyrn Thomas – The Operation Transformation host will chat to Ryan about a new season of the show, as well as her plans for the year ahead, which include her wedding and the arrival of a new family member.
  • First Dates Ireland – Ryan will meet some of the daters hoping to find love on the new season of the show and will catch up with a couple who met on a previous season and have remained together since.
  • Body Positivity – A panel of women who have experienced intolerance and abuse because of their size and are fighting back will participate in a discussion about body positivity. The panel will feature Irish model Tia Duffy, whose Body Aware Project has been picked up by Italian Vogue, Dundalk woman Sarah Tyrell, who started an online community known as BoPo Ireland and Stacey Dineen, who left school to escape bullying over her appearance and went on to become a plus-size model and the winner of the Canadian reality series Fashion Hero.
  • Valerie Cox – The broadcaster will join Ryan to talk about the frightening experience of her husband’s recent health scare after he lapsed into a coma when he was struck down with herpes viral encephalitis. Valerie will also share her take on how the over-65s are treated in the Irish health system.
  • Trudy Hayes – The celebrity hairstylist will share with viewers her experience of undergoing two kidney transplants and losing her home, business and relationship and how she has subsequently transformed herself and battled back.
  • Ailbhe and Izzy Keane – The founders of an innovative product known as ‘Izzy Wheels’ will chat to Ryan about transforming the country’s wheelchairs from medical devices into fashion statements.
  • Music from Patrick Feeney and Hermitage Green.

The Graham Norton Show

There are no new guests on the couch with Graham this week; instead, he’s presenting his very own guide on how to be a good guest with a set of easy-to-remember rules for any star thinking about appearing on his show.

Amongst the stars to feature in some classic clips from his back catalogue will be Ricky Gervais, Miriam Margolyes and Dame Julie Walters.
