Liam Cunningham reveals the extreme lengths people are going to try and spoil Game of Thrones

Or is it, Game of Drones, huh?

Liam Cunningham plays a leading character in Game of Thrones called Davos Seaworth, so he knows a thing or two about the show.

Be wary of spoilers from here if you’re not up to date with Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones is probably the most popular show in the world at the minute, and it has faced a constant battle over the years to keep plots a secret and episodes from being leaked online.

They haven’t been very successful at times with an episode last season leaking online before its premiere on HBO and Sky Atlantic.

Liam Cunningham told RTÉ’s The Works Presents about the the extremes people are going to try and find out more about the show.

Before the beginning of Season 6, Cunningham was being plagued by fans of the show asking if Jon Snow was alive, following his apparent death at the end of Season 5 at the hands of his brothers in the Night’s Watch.

Nothing new there, it was the question on everyone’s lips following the Season 5 finale but people are now spying on them while filming to try and find out more about the show.

“In Spain we were being live streamed while we were filming, from drones,” Cunningham said. “Everything we’ve done has been infiltrated which is terrible. It can appear like we are being precious about it, and it’s not. One of the great things about the show is these bizarre surprises.

“I’ve seen these cynical critics going ‘oh my god, did you see that last week?’ Suddenly the inner child comes out in them because they have been outwitted and they love it and so does the audience. It’s what we pay for. I like it as well, when I am reading the scripts I go ‘oh you’ve gotta be, you’re shitting me’ and I love that.”

The show will be airing on RTE One on Tuesday, March 21 at 11.15pm.
