TRAILERCHEST: Jack Reynor stars in Midsommar, the horror that will put you off festivals forever

Rudi Kinsella

Misdommar trailer

From the creator of Hereditary, this looks absolutely horrifying.

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a look at the brand new trailer for Midsommar.

Plot’s It All About:

Ari Aster’s anticipated Hereditary follow-up seems to follow a number of American teenagers as they head to Sweden for a strange looking festival, and by the looks of the trailer, it doesn’t take long for it to turn into flat out chaos.

We see who we can only imagine are the organisers of the festival engaging in bizarre looking rituals, and scenes filled with blood and guts, as part of a weird event “takes place across 9 days, once every 90 years”.

The trailer also features short clips of attendees of the festival being unable to speak or move, while some are made levitate following another creepy ritual.

Terrifying, and extremely hard to understand what exactly is going on.

Long story short, there’s no way we’ll be going to many festivals too soon after seeing this.

Starring: Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, Will Poulter, William Jackson Harper.

Director: Ari Aster

Irish release date: Friday 16 August

Enjoy!
