amityville horror

It is one of the highest-grossing independent movies of all time.

Disney+ has added its first big action series of 2024 but if you need more to watch, here are the movies on TV tonight.

The Amityville Horror – Sky Sci-Fi – 9pm
Our pick for this evening is this 1979 classic horror about a newlywed couple (James Brolin and Margot Kidder) and their three children who move into a large house where a mass murder was committed.

There, they start to experience strange, inexplicable manifestations which have strong effects on everyone living in or visiting the house.

Based on the claims of a real family, the original Amityville Horror is one of the highest-grossing independent movies of all time and went on to launch a long-running franchise.

And in the decades since its release, it has become seen as a seminal entry in the sub-genre of the haunted house film.

As well as airing on TV tonight, it is also available to stream via Sky.

Constantine – Quest – 9pm
Keanu Reeves plays a cynical exorcist who gets caught up in a supernatural conspiracy in this cult superhero flick set to get a sequel.

The Equalizer – Film4 – 9pm
The first in the very solid Denzel Washington crime thriller trilogy.

Predestination – Legend – 9pm
A very underrated sci-fi starring Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook that we’ve recommended countless times before.

One Shot – Sky Max – 9pm
Ashley Greene Khoury, Ryan Phillippe and Scott Atkins star in this 2021 British action thriller about an elite squad of Navy SEALs under attack.

She Wore a Yellow Ribbon – BBC Four – 10pm
A ’40s Western starring John Wayne and directed by John Ford.

Fury – ITV4 – 10pm
The excellent, gritty WWII movie starring Brad Pitt and Logan Lerman.
