Disney+ has just added one of the best movies of 2023 to its service. However, if you need more viewing options, here are the films airing on TV this Wednesday night.

Men in Black: International – Film4 – 9pm

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson take over from Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in this sci-fi action comedy sequel. Liam Neeson also features.

Above the Law – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

The quite decent film debut of Steven Seagal where he plays a Chicago cop who discovers a conspiracy.

The House of the Devil – Horror Xtra – 10.55pm

This supremely creepy ’80s set horror about a college student (Jocelin Donahue) hired as a babysitter at an isolated house was the breakthrough film for writer-director Ti West, who helmed the recent acclaimed slashers X and Pearl.

Maniac – Legend – 11.05pm

Elijah Wood plays a serial killer in this stylish if very violent horror remake notable for being nearly entirely shot from the murderer’s point of view.

Dumb and Dumber – Turner Classic Movies – 11.05pm

Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey star in this much-loved comedy.

I’m Your Man – Film4 – 11.15pm

Our pick for tonight is this German sci-fi about a scientist (Maren Eggert) who, in order to obtain research funds for her studies, agrees to live with a humanoid robot (Dan Stevens – Downton Abbey, The Guest) designed to be the perfect life partner for her.

Directed by Maria Schrader (She Said, Netflix’s Unorthodox) and released in Irish cinemas in 2021, I’m Your Man holds a very impressive 96% Rotten Tomatoes score – with critics praising Stevens’ performance delivered in fluent German and the movie’s exploration of romance in a modern world of ever advancing technology.

Booksmart – BBC One – 11.40pm

One of the best and most warmest comedies of recent years, Booksmart follows two graduating high school girls (Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever) who set out to finally break the rules and party on their last day of classes.
