Prime Video has just added 2023’s best action movie

Rory Cashin

It is also being called one of the best action movies ever made.

There have been some very entertaining action movies released in 2023 so far – Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 – but without a doubt, the best action movie of 2023 so far has got to be John Wick Chapter 4.

In fact, with the set pieces and action sequences in the fourth outing for Keanu Reeves’ near-silent avenging angel, it could soon be ranked alongside the likes of Mad Max: Fury Road and Mission: Impossible – Fallout as one of the very best action movies of the 21st century.

This time around, Wick is on the warpath towards defeating the all-powerful High Table, but one of its members, Marquis (Bill Skarsgård), is using his considerable sway to turn some of Wick’s old friends into his new enemies, including the blind assassin Caine (Donnie Yen).

John Wick Chapter 4 is the best reviewed of the entire series

Making $432 million worldwide, John Wick Chapter 4 is the biggest box office success of the series so far, while the critics also absolutely loved the movie, giving it 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, with many stating they believe it to be one of the best action films ever made:

IGN – “John Wick: Chapter 4’s incredibly staged set pieces, engaging ensemble, and stylish production design coalesce into a modern action masterclass. 10 out of 10.”

The Playlist – “With this wildly satisfying world tour de force, Reeves’ Wick transcends icon status delivering the perfect bone-crunching crescendo to one of the great action franchises in cinema history. It’s pure gold. 5 out of 5.”

Uproxx – ” It’s so good I really kind of hope they end on this. I truly don’t think it can be topped. 10 out of 10.”

John Wick Chapter 4 is available to watch on Prime Video in Ireland and the UK right now.
