Or should we say scream at home.

Scream VI, one of the best horror movies of 2023 so far, is now available to stream at home in Ireland and the UK.

The slasher sequel, which has been added to Now Cinema and Sky Cinema, follows the survivors of the ‘Woodsboro legacy murders’ that occurred in the fifth Scream entry after they move to New York City for a fresh start.

However, it is not long before they find themselves targeted by a new serial killer donning the infamous Ghostface mask.

Starring Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding from the previous Scream film, alongside other returning faces from the franchise like Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere and Skeet Ulrich, Scream VI was a big box office hit – grossing nearly $170 million on a reported $35 million budget.

It was also positively received by critics, who praised its young cast, its self-referential jokes and its tense set-pieces – particularly one scene involving a ladder.

The sequel was such a success in fact that a follow-up is already in development.

Here is a sample of some of those glowing reviews for Scream VI from critics:

CNN: “Scream VI reinforces how shrewd the producers were in casting the next generation, with Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega ably carrying this chapter of horror’s most self-referential franchise.”

Empire: “One of the sillier series entries in terms of plot, but still scary enough and funny enough to leave you hoping Ghostface might yet kill again.”

The Guardian: “If further Screams can provide this much of a propulsive jolt then there’s more life in the franchise than we thought.”

Little White Lies: “Scream VI is well-made, fast-moving and often painfully brutal, while peppered with the kind of sassy, savvy dialogue that has always been a hallmark of the franchise.”

Vanity Fair: “While still a far cry from the elegance of Wes Craven’s original, Scream VI is the best installment in the series since the second film. It’s tart and suspenseful and has reignited my faith in a once cherished, then tarnished brand.”
