Get set to relive some trauma because The Witches remake will be released in October 2020

The Witches

Anne Hathaway as The Grand High Witch. Can she traumatise a new generation?

Anne Hathaway is a very talented actress that has proven herself in a variety of roles. For example, she grabbed the world’s attention in The Princess Diaries and unlike many others, she perfectly made the transition from child actor to a bonafide star.

Impressive turns in the likes of Brokeback Mountain, Rachel Getting Married, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Dark Knight Rises have added to her CV, and she topped them all by winning an Oscar for Les Misérables.

This being said, for many people, the biggest challenge of her career to date will come in Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming reboot of the Roald Dahl classic, The Witches.

Why?

Well, Anjelica Huston’s performance as The Grand High Witch is still the thing of nightmares.

Confident, sinister, charming, and utterly remorseless, she embodied the worst fears that people have about witches. All this without mentioning *that* scene which has rightfully gone down in history as an iconic horror moment.

Well, the new version of The Witches is moving forward with filming set to begin this summer.

As for the plot, the film will be set in Alabama as Zemeckis plans a “sociological spin” on the original story. It’s time to relive some trauma because Deadline have reported  that The Witches will be released on 16 October, 2020.

If it’s half as memorable as the first version, prepare to be terrified.
