It’s the hottest ticket in town.

The countdown is very much on to the most anticipated Late Late Show of the year, with just over two weeks to go until the 2017 edition of the Toy Show is upon us.

Always one of the most watched programmes in Ireland on an annual basis, demand for audience tickets is sky high, owing solely to the entertainment value and not in any way to the huge amount of freebies given away on the night, of course.

The application process for tickets to this year’s show closed yesterday, Monday November 14, with 125,000 people having applied, a quite ridiculous number indeed.

Tickets will be issued on a lottery basis, but there is still a chance for two lucky people to secure their seat in the audience.

The Late Late show is running a competition, whereby users will be asked to download the ‘RyanElf’, cut it out, start featuring it in some creative snaps and share them on Instagram or Twitter or on the The Late Late Show/RTÉ One Facebook pages using the hashtag #ToyShowSnap.

The more creative snaps the better, so entrants are encouraged to make the ‘RyanElf’ a part of a special occasion; bring him to your favourite spot in your hometown or maybe allow him to ’embellish’ the perfect picture with a well-timed photobomb.

Commenting on the competition, The Late Late Toy Show host Ryan Tubridy said: “Toy Show tickets are rarer than hen’s teeth and this is a great opportunity for someone to get their hands on two of them. I’m encouraging everyone to be as fun and creative as possible with the RyanElf – I’m looking forward to seeing where he ends up!”

The Late Late Toy Show ‘elves’ will collect all the entries and they’ll go into a draw to win two golden tickets to this year’s show.

The usual terms and conditions apply and audience members must be 18 or over to attend on the night.
