This Star Wars Christmas present shows good things come to those who wait

It's probably worth a little more than the $2.50 price tag

The characters in The Force Awakens aren’t the only ones searching for Luke Skywalker this Christmas.

An American mother surprised her offspring with an action figure of the iconic character – some three decades after buying it.

Her son, now an adult himself, still appreciated the gift, whose arrival was timed perfectly to coincide with the release of Episode VII.

‘Going to be holding on to this forever!’ he wrote after sharing the discovery on Reddit.

Back when the recipient’s mother left the toy in a drawer in 1982, she probably can’t have expected it to still be so valuable 33 years on.

In fact it’s probably worth a little more than the $2.50 price tag.
