Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is coming back with a very famous presenter

Paul Moore

It’s back but there’s going to be new twists.

Very few gameshows have captivated TV viewers quite like Who Wants to be a Millionaire? as phrases like 50/50, use your lifeline and phone a friend have become a part of the popular lexicon.

Aside from this, it’s also great hangover TV as you constantly say to yourself ‘I knew that one’ and ‘I’d be so much better than these guys on the show.’ Yeah, we’d probably wilt on the first question!

Isn’t that the ultimate fear? Getting the first few ‘simple questions wrong?

Well, fans of the show will be delighted to know that the show is coming back this spring and Jeremy Clarkson will be hosting the UK version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Clarkson replaces Chris Tarrant for the 20th anniversary of the quiz show, which was cancelled four years ago by ITV.

The new version of the game show is being developed by Sony-owned Stellify Media and the producers have promised some new but unspecified twists in the reboot.

ITV previously broadcasted Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?between 1998- 2014 and the show was a gargantuan hit. In fact, it was serialised around the world and was immortalised in the Oscar-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire.

Will the new version hit the heights of the old show or will it strike-out on the first question? We’ll be eager to see.
