It features two massive Irish stars among its ensemble cast.

Our TV movie pick for tonight (Thursday, 23 April) is Widows, the incredible 2018 heist thriller from director Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave, Hunger).

The film centres around four Chicago women (Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez and Viola Davis) who attempt to steal $5 million from the home of a prominent local politician (Colin Farrell).

This is so that they can pay back the money their husbands stole from two crime boss brothers (Brian Tyree Henry and Daniel Kaluuya) before they were killed in a botched getaway attempt.

Co-starring Liam Neeson as the husband of Viola Davis' character, Widows was co-written by McQueen and Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn and is based on an '80s British series.
