“A pro-bullying workshop?” Graham Norton tweets as school denies cancellation

The TV presenter is clearly not impressed.

Coláiste Eoin has denied cancelling a scheduled workshop against homophobic bullying on Tuesday, insisting that it plans to invite the voluntary group ShoutOut back at a later date.

The Stillorgan secondary school hit the news yesterday when a planned seminar did not go ahead, with ShoutOut already on the premises when it was cancelled.

ShoutOut has previously held workshops at Coláiste Eoin in 2012 and 2013 without any issues.

On Wednesday the school’s board of management sent a press release into Morning Ireland explaining the reasons why yesterday’s seminar did not go ahead, stating that they’d taken calls from concerned parents.

They also stated the need to seek advice from “Catholic management representative bodies” before any workshop could go ahead.
