It’s not just the football community that waxes lyrical about good Brazilians

There will be plenty of talk about Brazilians during the next few months in the lead up to the World Cup, but we don’t think they will be talking about this type of Brazilian.

According to research from Australia, a huge decrease in cases of pubic lice has been seen since 2008, with the main sexual health clinic in Sydney reporting no female patients presenting with that infection since that year. The decline is being linked to Brazilian bikini waxes, which have become hugely popular.

Bloomberg have a few statistics to back up this claim, stating that researchers at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, reported in a 2011 paper that the majority of young adult men and women removed part or all of their pubic hair, therefore destroying the best habitat for the pesky pest to dwell in.

Similar falling numbers for cases in male patients also been linked to an increased interest in keeping things neat down below, as Basil Donovan, a physician at the Sydney Sexual Health Centre told
Bloomberg, “It used to be extremely common; it’s now rarely seen. Without doubt, it’s better grooming”.

So there you go lads, get manscaping and play your part in ridding the world of pubic lice.
