Start making those plans.

Now that Storm Ernesto has passed and the adverse conditions appear to be behind us, here’s what the weather is shaping up to be over the coming few days according to the people at Met Éireann.

This afternoon should be dry in most parts with bright or sunny spells, especially in the south. These conditions are expected to change as the day develops though with cloud, rain, drizzle and fog occurring.

The rain and drizzle will become more widespread in the southwest, west and north this evening.

It’s set to be a humid start to the week as Monday morning should be mostly cloudy and misty, with patches of rain, drizzle and fog throughout. This being said,  bright spells and dry intervals will develop during the day. Maximum temperatures 17 to 22 celsius, warmest in the east and south.

Rain is the forecast on Monday night though but it’s confined to the northern and northeastern areas. Aside from these areas, it’s set to remain dry across the country with clear spells.

Thickening overnight cloud in the west and northwest should bring rain to the coastal fringes of Connacht and west Ulster by Tuesday morning. Mist and fog patches will form with outbreaks of rain and drizzle set to fall in Connacht, Ulster and west Munster

Elsewhere, it looks like it will be generally dry in the south and east with some sunshine.

As for Tuesday night, although there is some uncertainty, it does look like the rain in the west and north will spread southeastwards with cooler, clearer and less humid conditions establishing in the west and northwest.

Wednesday is expected to be a very different day for the west and northwest though with brighter, fresher and sunnier conditions arriving. As for the southern and eastern areas, cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will linger from overnight before clearing later in the day.

Thursday and Friday will see some showers developing though with the risk of thundery and heavy downpours at times. This being said, there’s also going to be some sunshine too.

As for the weekend, it’s set to be cool on Saturday with further sunshine and showers, with perhaps milder but unsettled conditions on Sunday.
