Met Éireann have issued a yellow weather warning for Valentine’s Day

Met Éireann have issued a status yellow wind warning for all of Ireland on Wednesday.

The warning was issued at 5pm on Tuesday and will be valid from 12am on Wednesday until 8am the same day.

They’ve warned of southerly winds with mean speeds of 50 to 60 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 100km/hr.

Coastal areas will be the most adversely affected by the winds.

Aside from that, it promises to be a wet and windy Valentine’s Day.

Wednesday morning will bring with it heavy rain and strong southerly winds.

The rain will turn to showers in the late morning and early afternoon with the skies brightening.

Thankfully, it will be quite mild with temperatures during the morning of 8 to 11 degrees; before becoming colder in the afternoon as the winds become westerly in direction.

Wednesday night will be cold with lowest temperatures falling to between -1 and +3 degrees with some frost.
