Maybe not the best PR move.
Across the world, attitudes are softening towards cannabis use – and just this week, TD Aodhán O’Ríordáin tweeted that Ireland would be looking into decriminalising the drug in 2016.
With that in mind, it’s understandable that some people were a bit perplexed when the Gardaí uploaded a small bag of confiscated cannabis and a grinder to their Facebook page a few weeks ago.

The photo was uploaded on December 21 of last year, but the backlash has continued well on to this week, with many angry commenters having their say about the priorities and policies of some Gardaí.
